3,350 candidates will receive invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the 118th Express Entry draw on May 29, 2019. The minimum CRS score for this draw has increased to 470. Important to note, this jump is unsurprising considering that the last draw, was only for candidates in the Federal Skilled Trade Program.

Express Entry Draw 118 | 3,350 invitations to Apply issued.

Draw no: 118

Draw Date: May 29, 2019

No of Invitations issued: 3,350

Minimum CRS: 470

Program Specified: None

Tie-breaking rule: 23rd May 2019

In the 118th Express Entry draw, IRCC increased the CRS score- 470. This cut off is significantly higher than in recent times but is not surprising. Two weeks earlier the Canadian government conducted an Express Entry draw limited to applicants in the Federal Trades Program with only 500 invitations to apply issued, and a CRS cut-off of just 332. This is the first time the CRS has ever skyrocketed to 470 and this competitive draw means that future draws will return to cut-offs more in line with what has been seen recently.

While this week saw an increased CRS cut-off, we can feel that eligibility criteria will become accessible in the coming months.
